A core pin is a component used in plastic injection molding and die casting dies to create a void for a desired shape. A core pin can be made to be placed on the A-side or the B-side of a mold. It can also be made to be thin and tall to prevent it from getting damaged during the process.
The A-side of a core pin is typically the half that encloses the mold. It's the half that's used to create the exterior of a cosmetic part.
The B-side is the half of the mold that contains the ejectors, side-action cams, and other complex components.
