The biggest feature of pressure dies casting that distinguishes it from other casting processes is the use of high speed and high-pressure methods. During the filling process, various mechanics, thermal, and fluid mechanics principles are fully utilized, from pressure, pressure injection speed to the change of metal temperature, all of which are very elaborate. This makes the process of pressure casting quite complex, and the following will introduce the factors that affect the quality of pressure die casting.

Here is the content:

  • Influence of die

  • Influence of shock wave

  • Influence of release agent

Influence of die

The influence of die casting mold on the quality of pressure casting is decisive. The mold is composed of several elements, such as inlet, cavity, outlet, and slag, which require the alloy liquid to enter the cavity with the most suitable flow state and discharge the gas in the cavity to the maximum extent. Mold release agent manufacturer "Liannuo Chemical" found that the entrance direction and distribution of the gate has a significant impact on the exhaust, and must make the metal liquid flow along the wall of the mold to fill the mold, not to hold the gas. It is necessary to make the metal liquid flow along the mold wall in an orderly manner, so as not to hold the gas. Opening the exhaust slot and overflow slot in the suitable part is more conducive to discharging the gas in the cavity and preventing the formation of the vortex.

Impact of shock wave

When the metal liquid flow completes filling, the pressure shock wave will be generated in the cavity at the moment of stopping the movement of the pressurized injection head, which will hurt the quality of die-casting as well as mold life, production efficiency, production management, and operation safety, so it should be eliminated as much as possible. You can take the method of extending the pressurization time, so that the pressurization pressure gradually rises to the set value, to achieve the purpose of allowing the metal to slowly condense, which can effectively reduce the generation of shock waves. In addition, with the improvement of chemical stability of mold materials in recent years, the development of die-casting mold cooling technology, so that high-energy filling can be used, can reduce the shock wave by increasing the pressure injection speed.

Influence of release agent

The release agent is an aid to make the die casting come out from the cavity smoothly, it needs to be applied on the contact surface of the inner surface of the die before casting. A suitable mold release agent needs to meet the following requirements: it can maintain good lubricity at high temperatures. Its diluent should have a low volatility point (can evaporate quickly at 100 to 150 degrees Celsius), stable performance, non-toxic, non-hazardous, and non-corrosive.

Due to the complex production process of die-casting, many change points, strong continuity, and large product batch, etc., the casting is easy to defects, resulting in unstable product quality, which seriously affects the economic efficiency of enterprises. Therefore, we pay great attention to the factors affecting die-casting. And we try to minimize these influencing factors and strive to achieve the best to meet the needs of customers.
